Scanner Art

What is “Scanner Art?”

“Scanning everyday objects at a very high resolution produces images of stunning clarity and beauty.”
Scanner Art, (also called “Scanography” or “Scanner Photography”) is work created by scanning ordinary objects.

Scanning everyday objects at a very high resolution produces images of stunning clarity and beauty. The scanner’s built-in light source provides a soft, even and very pleasing effect that compliments and enhances most subject matter. The resulting images have a unique quality with a vividness and realism that is unmatched by any other process.

Tim uses an Epson Expression 10000XL, a high quality, desktop graphic arts scanner capable of making some very fine images. He composes his images directly on the scanner glass.

Tim has been creating and exhibiting scanned art since 2006. His work has been featured in juried photographic exhibits across the United States and has won numerous awards, including three “Best of Shows.”
