Traveling in Zion National Park before dawn, I discovered this rock in a pool of water with the golden glow of sunrise hitting the top of the opposite canyon wall reflected in the water. I waited for about half an hour for the colors to intensify, then made the exposure with my medium-format Mamiya RZ67 camera. The image is part of the Lucile and David Packard corporate collection.
