Lundy Canyon is a truly spectacular spot in the Eastern Sierras, just north of Mono Lake. It’s a popular spot for fishermen, photographers and hikers.
On this day, I arrived before dawn and waited for the light to hit the peaks of the Sierras. I used a split neutral density filter to even out the exposure and timed it so the water in the beaver pond in front of me was perfectly still. The image still evokes pleasant memories of that morning for me; the stillness, the quiet and the grand solitude of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
